No two icebergs are the same. This large, grounded iceberg would have been at least a few stories tall with an ice cave naturally carved out in the middle of it. Located just off the coast of the Vestfold hills within the station operating limits. Rafting of the sea ice around the iceberg and a crack which allows the sea ice to move up and down with the tides. The sea ice approximately 1.5m thick but is always treated as ‘live’ due to the tide and other factors that could make the sea ice thinner in areas. Icerbergs are particulary dangerous
