Crooked Lake, Vestfold Hills

Methane bubbles frozen in time at Crooked Lake. From the dark depths at the bottom of the lake these methane bubbles are released as they seek the surface of the lake. Unfortunately, the top of the lake was in the process of freezing, locking these bubbles in motion. Also layers of snow, seen as the white circles encapsulated within the frozen lake beneath the surface. Estimated thickness of the ice approx. 1.5m – 2m or more.
